Here’s What You [Probably] Didn’t Know About Umbrella Armory

                       Umbrella Armory

Umbrella Armory is a little different from some of the other airsoft brands we feature here at MiR Tactical. You see, unlike manufacturers like Elite Force and Lancer Tactical that either produce their own airsoft guns or are part of a larger conglomerate, the folks at Umbrella Armory take a good thing and make it great.

They’re not always the ones responsible for designing and manufacturing the actual platform itself, but they do take a look at what comes out of the box, think “how can we make this better?” and then do it.

That’s the sort of thing that’s given Umbrella Armory so much staying power, and what’s made it a key player in the airsoft industry. Here are some of the things you can expect from them.

Umbrella Armory Takes Great Airsoft Platforms and Makes Them Better
Umbrella Armory produces a whole load of high-quality performance-enhancing parts, including but not limited to grips, receivers, springs, bearings, gearboxes, and much more. These they leave up to you and other airsoft tinkerers to use to make your own airsoft guns better.

But what the company also does is take proven platforms, like VFC and Krytac, and trick those platforms out for next-level performance. They also produce airsoft HPAs like the OCAW Banshee which offers the same thing - expectation-shattering performance.

Let’s take a look at what Umbrella does behind the scenes.

Adjustable Performance
Let’s say you have an airsoft gun with a sloppy trigger response or one that delivers low power. You may be able to fix inconsistent or flagging RPS or FPS ratings by using different ammo or upgrading a gearbox.

However, that’s a lot of work and not all airsofters are modders, despite the fact that forums and social media might make you think so. Some of us just want to get out there and play.

Some Umbrella Armory airsoft guns, however, like the OCAW Banshee HPA, offer programmable FCUs (Fire Control Units) and allow for both the rate of power and muzzle velocity to be adjusted. That’s right - with an Umbrella Armory OCAW Banshee HPA, if you want to push up the rate of fire or give a boost to power, you can probably do it yourself. No need for a specialist or technician.

This AEG also delivers high-quality internals as well. It features a Gen 3 Fusion engine as well as a Lapped R-Hop Inner Barrel. Durable, dependable, and reliable, it’s a souped-up AEG on a mission to change the way you think about power and customization in airsoft rifles.

Improved Trigger Response
A mushy trigger with poor trigger response is a nightmare, even in an airsoft gun. It’s a common problem, too, which is why this Umbrella Armory AEG features a hair-trigger that is also adjustable.

Sensitive enough to fire off a burst at a breath but adjustable so you can fine-tune performance, this AEG will scream shot strings out across the field at the drop of a pin if you need it to - but it’s flexible enough to regroup with you over the bench so you can continue to improve as you refine your craft.

Out-of-This-World Durability
Now, to be fair, it’s only natural to assume that a piece of airsoft equipment that offers this level of customization and performance would also be made of spit and tissue paper. Maybe the previous hyperbolic expression is a bit grandiose, but let’s just make the comparison between a performance car and fuel. Sure, you’ll get 0-60 in 3 seconds with some - if you fill it up with the right juice.

Some airsoft guns are the same way. They can’t take a beating or they fall apart when the going gets rough. Umbrella AEGs are not like that. They’re built tough, like you.

The OCAW Banshee HPA is built according to that latter maxim. It’s constructed from a balanced assembly of tough-as-nails aluminum and polymer parts that can buck the elements and will shed abuse with a laugh.

It features a polymer motor grip and adjustable stock as well as an aluminum handguard, receiver, outer barrel, and buffer tube, traits it shares in common with many other highlights from Umbrella Armory.

Enhanced Expandability
While the OCAW Banshee HPA might be, for example, all you need to take on an opposing team without any expansion, it’s flexible enough to adapt to your needs in a customary fashion.

It only weighs 3.8 pounds and with its 5-inch barrel, it only comes in at between 27 and 31.5 inches depending on adjustment to the PDW style stock. It’s light, maneuverable, and can be adjusted based on the needs or dimensions of nearly any player.

Also on the note of expandability, it comes with a 7 inch Midwest Industries M-LOK handguard so it’s ready to accept attachments and accessories like lights, lasers, grips, optics or offset sights.

A More Realistic Experience
Now let’s talk about some bells and whistles. A lot of players get into airsoft or MilSim specifically for the experience, and some airsoft producers are going above and beyond to make sure that the experience is as real as possible.

This is the reason that some manufacturers are interested in creating simulated recoil or tracer units that make it look like they’re firing off incendiary rounds. The more it introduces realism into the simulation, the more players will love it.

This is another area in which Umbrella Armory shines. Some of their AEGs (like the Banshee) come with a Banshee amplifier, which is more or less exactly what it sounds like.

This amplifier is made of 3D printed resin and attaches right to the threads at the front of (14mm) Banshee barrels. Here’s what’s crazy, though. It produced muzzle volumes of up to 119 decibels during testing.

To put that in perspective, a thunderclap is usually somewhere around 120 decibels. This is not a linear scale, but you get the point. This thing is loud. Like almost as loud as a real rifle, is what we mean to say.

This is just one of the ways that Umbrella Armory is innovating and creating a more realistic experience on the airsoft field.
