SLING PARTS
Airsoft Sling Parts | Straps, QD Swivels, and Mounts for Every Build
A sling keeps your gun secured to your body without tying up your hands, but only if every part of the system, the strap, the swivels, and the mounting point, all fit together. We carry airsoft sling parts across 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point setups, built for M4, AK, and other major platforms.
The Core Parts of an Airsoft Sling System
A complete sling setup is really a few separate parts working together: the strap itself, the swivels that connect it to your gun, and the mounting hardware on the gun that the swivels plug into. Any one of these can be swapped independently, which is why sling parts are sold separately rather than only as one bundled unit.
Airsoft Sling Webbing and Straps
The strap is the durable nylon or canvas webbing that adjusts in length and rests across your shoulder or chest. Length adjustment matters more than most players expect, a strap that's too long lets the gun swing loosely and snag on gear, while one that's too short restricts your ability to shoulder the gun quickly.
Airsoft QD Swivels and Sockets
A quick-disconnect (QD) swivel is a push-button metal pin with ball bearings that locks securely into a matching socket, letting you detach the gun from the sling instantly. The socket or mount is the receiving hardware on your gun, whether that's built into a rail, a receiver end plate, or a dedicated mount added specifically for this purpose. QD swivels and sockets from different manufacturers generally cross-compatible, since the design follows a widely shared standard.
Airsoft Sling Hooks and Clips
Older or simpler sling styles use metal spring clips, HK-style hooks, or MASH hooks instead of a QD system. These clip directly onto a loop rather than locking into a socket, which is a faster attach but a less secure hold than a proper QD connection.
Airsoft Sling Mount Plates and Rail Adapters
An end plate, sometimes called a sling mount plate, installs at the base of an M4 or AR-pattern buffer tube to create a rear attachment loop where the stock design doesn't already have one. A rail mount adapter does the same job further forward on the gun, clamping onto a Picatinny, M-LOK, or KeyMod section to add a mounting loop or QD socket anywhere along the handguard.
1-Point, 2-Point, and 3-Point Airsoft Slings
The sling style determines how many attachment points you need and how the gun hangs against your body. A 1-point sling attaches only at the rear and lets the gun hang vertically in front of you, fast to bring up but prone to swinging. A 2-point sling attaches front and rear for the most stable, traditional carry. A 3-point sling adds a loop around the body for extra retention, at the cost of more bulk and complexity.
What to Look for in Airsoft Sling Parts
Once you know your sling style, a few details determine how well the parts work together.
Attachment Compatibility
Confirm your gun already has QD sockets, or has room to add an end plate or rail mount adapter, before buying a QD-based sling system.
Webbing Width and Material
Wider webbing distributes weight more comfortably over long games. Nylon resists wear better than lighter canvas alternatives.
Retention Needs
Match sling style to how you play. A fast-transition CQB loadout favors a 1-point sling, while a longer outdoor game favors the stability of a 2-point.
Airsoft Sling Parts FAQ
What's the difference between a 1-point and 2-point sling?
A 1-point sling attaches only at the rear and lets the gun hang vertically for fast transitions. A 2-point sling attaches front and rear for a more stable, traditional carry.
Do I need QD sockets on my gun to use a QD sling?
Yes, or a way to add them. An end plate at the buffer tube or a rail mount adapter on the handguard both create a QD socket where one doesn't already exist.
Are QD swivels interchangeable between brands?
Generally yes, since most follow the same widely shared push-button QD standard.
What's an end plate for on an M4 sling setup?
It installs at the base of the buffer tube to create a rear sling attachment point, since the stock buffer tube doesn't include one on its own.
Are hook-style sling attachments as secure as QD?
Not typically. Hooks and clips attach faster but hold less securely than a locking QD swivel and socket.
