LIPO
Airsoft LiPo Batteries | 7.4V and 11.1V High-Performance Packs
LiPo delivers the fastest trigger response and rate of fire of any common airsoft battery chemistry, but it's also the least forgiving if you skip the safety basics. We carry airsoft LiPo batteries in 7.4V and 11.1V configurations.
Airsoft 7.4V LiPo Batteries
A 7.4V LiPo suits standard and lower-power rifles well, offering stable performance and serving as a safe, straightforward upgrade path from an older NiMH setup without requiring additional gearbox protection.
Airsoft 11.1V LiPo Batteries
An 11.1V LiPo delivers a genuinely faster rate of fire and quicker trigger response than a 7.4V pack, but that added current draw can burn out internal gears or trigger contacts unless your gun already has a MOSFET or reinforced internals built to handle it.
Airsoft LiPo Charging Safety
Always use a smart balance charger built specifically for LiPo batteries, never a standard NiMH charger. Charge and store your LiPo inside a fire-resistant safety bag, and never let a LiPo battery run completely flat, doing so kills the cells permanently and the battery won't hold a charge again.
Airsoft LiPo Inspection and Handling
Check your battery before every use and dispose of it immediately if it looks swollen, puffed, or otherwise damaged. A compromised LiPo cell is a genuine fire risk beyond just a performance concern, so treat visible damage as a hard stop rather than something to monitor and keep using.
Choosing Between 7.4V and 11.1V Airsoft LiPo
If your gun doesn't have a MOSFET, stick with 7.4V rather than risking your trigger contacts on 11.1V. If you're already running a MOSFET or planning to add one, 11.1V delivers a real, noticeable performance upgrade worth the investment.
What to Look for in an Airsoft LiPo Battery
A few details determine whether a LiPo purchase is safe and appropriate for your specific gun.
Voltage vs. Your Gun's MOSFET Status
Confirm MOSFET presence before choosing 11.1V over 7.4V, this single check prevents the most common cause of LiPo-related gearbox damage.
Capacity and Physical Fit
Balance the highest capacity you can find against what physically fits your gun's specific battery compartment.
Discharge Rate (C-Rating)
Higher C-ratings support higher rate-of-fire builds, but aren't necessary for a standard semi-auto-focused setup.
Airsoft LiPo Battery FAQ
Do I need a MOSFET for an 11.1V LiPo?
Strongly recommended. Without one, the added current draw can burn out your trigger contacts or strip internal gears relatively quickly.
What happens if my LiPo runs completely flat?
The cells die permanently, and the battery won't hold a usable charge again. Avoid fully draining a LiPo battery.
Is it safe to use a swollen LiPo battery?
No. A swollen or puffed LiPo is a genuine fire risk and should be disposed of immediately rather than used again.
Can I charge my LiPo with a NiMH charger?
No. Always use a smart balance charger built specifically for LiPo chemistry to avoid damaging the battery or creating a safety hazard.
Should I get a 7.4V or 11.1V LiPo?
If your gun lacks a MOSFET, stick with 7.4V. If it has one, or you're planning to add one, 11.1V delivers a meaningful performance upgrade.
