The AFG-6 is a field-grade pyrotechnical device for simulated grenade use. It is made of foamed polyurethane with a cardboard body and filled with dried peas to simulate shrapnel. The ring-pull trigger mechanism is designed to mimic the function of the actual device, which prevents it from igniting until the safety lever is released. This also allows a player to replace the pin in the simulation grenade in the event they do not end up throwing or releasing the safety lever on the device for use later.
