The list could go on and on.

These are, however, despite their current popularity, evergreen brands. They’ve been popular for a while now and are unlikely to go anywhere.

1 Arcturus AK74U

The Acturus AK74U makes the most of modern AK styling with a few added perks and features that make it a top-selling AEG and perfect for open-field combat as well as CQB.

Right out of the gate you will notice that this AEG is built tough, with a stamped steel receiver, lightweight folding stock, and machined steel charging handle, as well as an AL CNC machined anodized outer barrel and handguard.

It also features a nylon-fiber reinforced polymer grip, a metal hop-up chamber, and a die-cast, Version 3 zinc gearbox with a steel-powder metallurgy gear set.

It is Li-Po ready, features a quick-change spring, and 6.01mm tight-bore inner barrel. Out of the box, it’s capable of 380-400 FPS muzzle velocities and comes with two mags: a high-capacity, 320-round wheel mag and a realistic 30-round to 130-round real-cap/mid-cap mag.

It also sports plenty of rail space, both over the receiver and on the sides of the handguard, giving you plenty of room for mounting airsoft attachments, unlike a classic AK platform.

2 Arcturus AK12

The steel-body Arcturus AK12 is another modernized AK platform from Arcturus Airsoft that offers a lot of value to demanding airsoft players.

It has a lot of what the former entry offers, such as a steel receiver, but this one features an aluminum outer barrel and a lightweight-yet-strong polymer-reinforced stock, handguard, and grip.

It also features a tight-bore inner barrel that boosts accuracy, as well as a micro-switch trigger and low-resistance wiring that improve trigger response, preserve the trigger contacts, and which can also help to improve accuracy.

Like the other AK-style platform mentioned above, it also features a quick-change spring that does not require you to remove the gearbox, so power and performance can be easily tweaked. It comes with two airsoft magazines as well, a real-cap/mid-cap combo and a high-capacity magazine, but this one’s mag holds 500 rounds.

It offers similar performance out of the box, as well as plenty of rail space, but this one offers a bit more, with more room for optics and other airsoft attachments.

3 Arcturus MK-1 CQB Sport

The MK-1 CQB Sport airsoft rifle is a gem from Arcturus Airsoft and delivers incredible value at a price nearly half that of the AK-style AEGs already covered.

Like the other Arcturus airsoft guns mentioned so far, it preserves high-quality construction, which underpins its value. It has a lightweight nylon receiver, an aluminum M-LOK handguard, an 18:1 steel gear set, a CNC steel cylinder, steel teeth, and a steel spring guide.

It also features a 24k neodymium motor, a Version 2 upgradeable gearbox with 8mm bearings and a quick change spring.

Other nice features include a pre-installed MOSFET that improves trigger response and preserves trigger contacts, an adjustable stock, and a micro-button switch. In addition to the real estate afforded by the M-LOK handguard, this AEG also features Pic rail space above, below, and on the sides of the receiver.

It’s a little bit less powerful than the AK-style platforms mentioned above (330-360 FPS out of the box) but at half the price, and with all these features (and more) who could complain?

4 Arcturus X-C.A.T. AR-15

The X-C.A.T. AR-15 is another great pick from Arcturus Airsoft and a best-seller among their AEGs. It is designed to be the ultimate entry-level airsoft gun that is both internally and externally-modular, and it begs for upgrades - although the stock version offers plenty to love as it is.

It features externals and furniture made from a mix of aluminum and polymer, shedding weight while improving corrosion resistance and strength.

Among its many features are a threaded outer barrel (perfect for muzzle devices), plenty of M-LOK and Picatinny rail space for airsoft attachments, and an adjustable, modular stock.

It has a lot to love internally, too, with a split Version 2 style gearbox with 12-position tunable 18:1 gears, a QSR2 quick-change spring system, and ball-bearing spring guides and piston heads, as well as a CNC steel cylinder and steel teeth.

In addition to being modular and moddable, this AEG is engineered for solid performance right out of the box, capable of reaching muzzle velocities of up to 350 FPS and an ROF of 20 RPS.

5 Arcturus Karambit MOD1 PDW

Last but certainly not least we have the Karambit MOD1 PDW from Arcturus Airsoft. In the middle of the road in terms of price, and the most compact AEG on the list, it might top the group for CQB.

It has an adjustable stock, so its overall length varies between 508mm and 635mm depending on the adjustment, and it weighs just under 5.2 lbs.

But even so, it’s not short on power, versatility, expandability, or general features. It packs a lightweight nylon polymer receiver, a 5.5” aluminum M-LOK handguard (compact, yet still with plenty of room for airsoft attachments), and an upgradeable V2 gearbox with 18:1 steel gears and 8mm bearings.

It also features a quick-change spring, a pre-installed MOSFET, a 24k neodymium motor, and various other steel components for durability and performance.

On that note, it’s capable of 330-360 FPS muzzle velocities and comes with a 30/130 round variable cap magazine, putting it on par with the MK-1 CQB Sport AEG listed above - except this one is more compact, making it truly optimal for CQB.
