They also typically feature durable ABS construction, metal components, and are made with full-metal, fully-upgradeable, Version 2 gearboxes.

They’re built tough, look awesome, perform well beyond their price point, and can be endlessly modded and upgraded.

Just be aware of one thing: the NiCad batteries they come with aren’t the best, so if you do get yourself a G&G AEG, consider upgrading the battery first.

Lancer Tactical

Lancer Tactical makes a wide range of budget-friendly AEGs, but they also make a bunch of heavy machine guns and spring-powered bolt-action airsoft rifles, too.

Umarex is the brand you want to know when you’re in the market for an airsoft pistol. Umarex (and Elite Force) make some notoriously high-quality (and licensed) airsoft pistol replicas, including but not limited to Glock, S&W, Beretta and Colt replicas.

They offer a wide range of airsoft guns, their prices are fair (a little on the high end for beginners, though), and their quality, reliability, and cool factor are off the charts.

KWA

KWA airsoft guns are consistently at the forefront of technology innovation and their AEGs exhibit some of the highest out-of-the-box quality on the market, bar none.

KWA takes performance and realism to the next level. This is the company that developed the NS2 blowback system that improves performance, consistency, and reliability, as well as the 2GX Mechbox. KWA also pioneered the Kinetic Feedback System that simulates recoil.

KWA airsoft guns exhibit high-quality internals and construction and largely are issued with LiPo batteries which are powerful and long-lasting. They’re a bit more expensive, but this is a good case of “you get what you pay for,” in a good way.

Action Army

Action Army is the company that gave the world the Action Army AAP-01, which is without a doubt one of the hottest airsoft pistols on the market right now.

Founded in 2010, Action Army is, like G&G Armament, based in Taiwan, and their airsoft guns and accessories exhibit flawlessly high quality. Many of them are CNC-machined from solid aluminum.

Tokyo Marui

Japan-based Tokyo Marui is one of the most recognizable names in the airsoft industry and is well-known even to many that don’t play.

There’s a reason: Tokyo Marui airsoft guns are top quality. Moreover, they produce a lot of variety - from GBB airsoft pistols to AEGs and spring-powered airsoft rifles. They make it all.

They maintain excellent production standards and on top of the fact that they produce a wide variety of airsoft guns, deliver high-quality models. Tokyo Marui airsoft guns are built tough and even support upgrades.

Classic Army

Classic Army is an airsoft brand that produces a number of different airsoft guns with both ABS and full metal construction, but regardless, what they produce is quality.

Also known as CA, Classic Army produces airsoft guns with high-quality internals and high-powered motors that don’t fail, even under grueling conditions.

They make some solid GBBs and AEGs, as well as some top-quality CQB platforms - just be prepared to pay for quality, as many of their platforms aren’t cheap.

ICS

ICS Airsoft is another airsoft company based in Taiwan that delivers impressive quality. They are durable, well-built, powerful, and innovative - users have been quick to praise their split gearbox design that simplifies maintenance.

They’re expensive, but the performance is there - the one thing you should be aware of, though, is that ICS airsoft guns feature parts that are generally not compatible with other manufacturer’s platforms, so they may not make the best choices for those who love to tinker.

Umbrella Armory

Last but not least we have Umbrella Armory, which unlike the other brands on this list, is more of a custom-shop than a producer.

Umbrella Armory, which produces models like the OCAW, tricks out existing platforms from CYMA, VFC, and G&G Armament, customizing them with upgrades that boost their performance.

It’s a good name to look out for if you love custom builds and are willing to pay top dollar for something truly unique.
