A Side by Side Comparison of Two Classic Elite Force Airsoft Guns
Jan 19th 2021
In this article, we’re going to take a look at two iconic Elite Force airsoft guns and compare some of their features. These models are airsoft replicas of handguns that are some of the most popular, effective, historically significant handguns ever produced - the Glock 19 and the M1911.
This article is not styled with the intention of picking a winner; rather, our purpose is to expose some of the unique traits of each so that you can determine which one is most suitable for your own purposes - perhaps you have a place in your arsenal for both.
With no further ado, we are honored to present the following two airsoft pistols.
Elite Force 1911 Tactical Gen 3 CO2 Gas Blowback Pistol
The real-life M1911 is a marvel of high-quality engineering. It's heavy and a little bit on the longer side, but it’s narrow, conceals well, has a buttery smooth action, adjustable sights, and a trigger that only travels backward, increasing both predictability and accuracy. It also has a frame that is made of iron. No, literally - it often has a steel frame. The thing is tough.
This replica is also literally made of iron, and the thing is darn tough. It has an all-metal frame and slide, so it’s a bit heavy, but that weight is a small price to pay for an Elite Force Airsoft Gun that will actually last for years with proper care.
At 2 pounds and 5 ounces and 9.5 inches long, it’s hefty enough to feel sturdy without adding too much weight, is capable of both safe and semi-automatic modes of fire, and comes with a 14 round magazine, putting the total standard capacity of this airsoft pistol at 15 rounds of 6mm AEG ammo.
It comes with a 3-dot sight, but it has an adjustable hop-up as well as a 20mm under-barrel rail for the mounting of accessories. If the sights leave you wishing you could have more, you can tailor the trajectory with the hop up and add a laser or a light to the rail.
As it uses CO2 as the propellant, it’s a wicked fast airsoft pistol, capable of generating muzzle velocities of upwards of 300 FPS. In fact, with .2g BBs, you can reach between 330 and 350 FPS.
It also comes with a reverse threaded tip so you can mount replica suppressors if that’s your sort of thing.
Elite Force Glock 19 Gen 3 Green Gas Blowback Pistol
Not that it’s on the other end of the spectrum, but by contrast, we have the Elite Force Glock 19 replica mentioned above. For players who prefer the softer action of Green Gas and the fact that it’s not as hard on their gear, this is a perfect solution.
This is also smaller and lighter than the 1911 replica mentioned above, with an injection-molded polymer frame and an aluminum slide, which makes it better for players who are looking to add a sidearm that is gear-weight-conscious. For some, lighter is better.
It has a slip-resistant grip and replicates Glock’s signature two-stage trigger (which, however, is not specific or unique to Glock.) It also comes with a 19 round magazine, so the capacity here is a little bit higher than with the 1911 mentioned above.
On that note, this is a bit of compensation for the diminished power of this Elite Force Airsoft Gun. With the same ammo, you can hope to achieve muzzle velocities around 300 FPS. It also comes with an adjustable hop-up system along with an under-barrel rail for mounting lights and other accessories - whichever you choose.
Ultimately, this will come down to a matter of preference for each individual player. There are, no doubt, players who will choose a 1911 replica simply for the personal affinity they hold for the platform.
Really, here, what matters is the following. Would you rather have a sturdier, tougher, more powerful airsoft pistol? If so, choose the model 1911. If you’d rather have a lighter, smoother airsoft pistol, that, while it had less power, held more ammo, you should go with the Glock.
Or, what you could do is buy two holsters from our lineup of airsoft gear and accessories and carry both, since they both use 6mm BBs. That choice is yours.
